JERUSALEM-An attack on an Israeli synagogue left four dead. Three are dual American-Israeli citizens and the last one is British-Israeli. A fifth person, Canadian citizen Howie Chaim Rotman, was severely injured in the incident. The two attackers were Palestinian and armed with a meat cleaver and a gun. The Police killed the assailants in a shootout. The names of the deceased are Avraham Goldberg, Aryeh Kupinsky, Cary Levine, and Mosheh.
A witness of the event, Yosef Posternak, expressed that there was “blood everywhere.”
President Barack Obama expressed disgust for the attacks when he said "There is and can be no justification for such attacks against innocent civilians, and Benjamin Netanyahu called the attack “a cruel murder of Jews who came to pray.”
The Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas also condemned the attacks. This is the first time he has condemned an attack on Israel since a recent spike of violence. However, he also called for an end to “provocations” by Israel used to incite violence from Palestinians.

This attack is part of a series of Palestinian attacks on Israel that have claimed the lives of ten Israelis. Half of them are American.
