Washington, D.C. Is a rich city full of fun things to do. I have gone to the city and stopped by these places. They all offer something fun and educational. Washington D.C. can get a little dangerous, though, so keep your kids close. However, it is not nearly as unsafe as Baltimore.

The National Spy Museum is the foremost museum to learn about the Nation’s deepest depths of trickery and intelligence gathering. Inside are multiple tours and incredible artifacts that make anyone want to be a spy.

The National Air and Space Museum is a great family outing. It showcases the history of air flight from the Wright Brothers to landing a man on the moon. There are many sections with different subjects and beautifully kept aircraft relics for kids aged 9 to 90.

The Smithsonian Museum is a great liberal history museum. It showcases artifacts from many cultures and times in history. It has free admission and is a great place to take kids for a free, yet entertaining, history lesson.

If there ever was a great place to get Chinese food, DC’s Chinatown is that place. Although small (one road), Chinatown has great chinese food and showcases a little Chinese-American culture.

The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC is an excellent place for the fine arts. They host a plethora of shows from operas to musicals and orchestral performances. They also have an upscale restaurant on the roof for those that want the full experience.

Perhaps the staple of Washington, DC is the political scene. The White House is the most guarded house in the world, and it has some of the richest history. They offer tours of some of the lower level rooms that hold the highest historical significance.

The Capitol Building is probably the most famous building in all of Washington, DC. The iconic dome rising high above really demonstrates the majesty of what America is; a place where anybody can make it and enjoy a life of freedom and equality.

The view from atop the Washington Monument is truly breathtaking. Visitors ride in an elevator and peer through one of the two windows at the point. This monument is the tallest building in Washington, DC.

Perhaps the most commonly-appearing memorial in movies and television serials is the Lincoln Memorial. Every easter there is a sunrise church service on its steps. It provides history on the president that freed the slaves.

The Jefferson Monument honors the legacy of one of the framers and drafter of the constitution. This beautiful monument honors the man who helped found this great country of freedom and equality.
